Volunteer opportunities available:

Business Mentors

Students are charged with the difficult task of writing a business plan in the span of six weeks. Business Mentors give each student one-on-one attention—advise, ask questions to guide them through the process, help students put their ideas into business language, edit and revise the business plan, help with research and financial charts, and offer ideas, suggestions, and connections.

  • Each student business works with a dedicated mentor

  • Attend six weekly meetings with an assigned student from January-February

  • Meetings are 6:00pm-7:30pm at Mira Costa High School

  • Conduct email communication with student as needed

  • Substitute positions available as needed when mentors are unable to attend

Speaking Opportunities

Speakers come to class and speak about their own education and career development, and then give students a brief overview of their topic and how it is necessary for or helps a business move forward. Speakers often give specific advice to the businesses students are developing, and are asked to make themselves available via email for further questions.
