Young Entrepreneurs Academy [YEA!]

Student Application 2026-27

  • Students entering grades 6-12 are welcome to apply.

  • Enter with or without an idea. The first few weeks will be spent both looking for and researching business ideas.

  • Meets for 24 weeks during the academic year (October - May) on Wednesdays for 3 hours (4:30 PM - 7:30 PM)

  • Classes are held at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.

  • Class holidays follow the Manhattan Beach Unified School District (MBUSD) calendar.

  • Students get a snack break during class.

  • Approximately 50 entrepreneurial professionals donate their time to the YEA program, many of whom provide one-on-one coaching to students over the course of the program.

  • YEA includes at least 1 field trip.

  • YEA culminates in an Investor Panel and the opportunity to win seed money.

 

Class size is limited to 20 students.

Application Deadline: SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

Program Interviews: SEPTEMBER 21-23, 2025

YEA! Orientation: SEPTEMBER 30, 2026 @ 4:30 PM via ZOOM

YEA! Start Date: OCTOBER 7, 2026


APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE WAITLIST AND THE NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR.


Program Fees

$20 YEA Application Fee Required to complete the application.

The program fee is $995 for the 24 week program (Due after acceptance into the YEA.)  

Upon review of the application, the YEA Team may invite (email) the students for an interview.
