Each year the Economic Forum focuses on bringing together leaders from Manhattan Beach and similar cities to discuss and develop key ideas to build on the success of our wonderful city. The program this year focuses on findings from the Urban Land Institute Study, takeaways from cities and organizations who have been where we are today, and visions of community leaders in an effort to assist in the building of Manhattan Beach of tomorrow.
Marisa Lundstedt, Community Development Director for The City of Manhattan Beach, will share recommendations from the Urban Land Institute Study and be on hand to answer questions. Lisa Garey, Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley, is set to deliver a state of the economy and glimpse into the future. Bruce Moe, Director of Finance for The City of Manhattan Beach, will again update us on the financial health of the Manhattan Beach. Each of these presentations are not be missed, as they will give a glimpse into where we are, where we are going, and how we can get there.
Additionally we are excited by our two very prominent panels. The first panel will be comprised of Leron Gubler the President/CEO of the Hollywood Chamber, Greg Carpenter the City Manager of El Segundo, Fran Fulton the Economic Development Director for The City of Torrance, and Shauna L. Mattis the Senior Vice President of JLL. We are looking forward to learning from their experiences on developing, implementing, and following up on strategic and specific plans they have recently been through. The second panel is made up of community leaders here in Manhattan Beach to speak about long term visions for the City of Manhattan Beach: Mayor of Manhattan Beach Mark Burton, President of the Downtown Business and Professionals Association Kris D’Errico, President of the North-end Business Improvement District James McCleary, Roger Lamont with the Commercial Property Owners Asociation, and President/CEO of the Manhattan Beach Chamber James O’Callaghan.
