“Manhattan Beach Pizza” – a popular Google search term the past couple weeks. We asked our Facebook users what their favorite pizza place was in Manhattan Beach and we received a few different options. The most votes were for Fresh Brothers – a famously independent pizza company born right here in Manhattan Beach.
Fresh Brothers was founded in 2008 by Adam & Debbie Goldberg, both big supporters of the Chamber and continue to hold positions in our ever changing committees. The Fresh Brothers name has been rapidly changing and quickly grown to be a household name throughout the South Bay and Los Angeles as a whole. The duo decided to team up with Adam’s brother, Michael and quickly grew the business to what is now ten facilities, which feature dine-in, take-out and pizza delivery.
Provided on their site, the couple’s mission and idea stemmed from the traditional Chicago-style pizza with a California flair:
“Adam and Debbie Goldberg opened the first Fresh Brothers in 2008. The idea: To take their traditional Chicago-style family recipes, originally created by Adam’s older brother, Scott Goldberg, and give them a fresh California twist. Their dough is hand-tossed, their sauce a secret blend of spices shipped in from Chicago. The mozzarella is made specifically for pizza, and is some of the best in the country. Their wings are baked, never fried. Their salads are hand-chopped and hand-tossed, with over 40 ingredients to choose from, plus 19 different dressings. Fresh Brothers also offers a gluten-free and vegan menu, which was developed using a training program by National Foundation for Celiac Awareness.”
Fresh Brothers was named Pizza Today’s “Independent Pizzeria of the 2012” and made it to #16 on PizzaMarketplace.com’s “2012 Top 100 Movers & Shakers.”
